Good home town hoagie shop. Good hoagies and salads. They also have good fries. Always need one when in town! Stop by and try them.
Nice little lunch spot for something quick to eat. Can't go wrong with a cold cut sub. Only complaint is I wish they'd put a little more meat on the sub. Prices are fair.
Solid food, family owned, friendly service, an absolute mainstay for the locals. Go for the double meat, double cheese Italian cheesesteak with banana peppers and fried onions. It's close to a perfect sandwich.

If your looking for an old fashion hoagie that has stayed the same for as long as I've been alive (36 years), come here. The bread is always soft and fresh and it's consistently tasted the same way every single time. There are no frills, no gimmicks, no bells and whistles, but it's always good. This is a mifflin county staple for sure. The same family has owned the place for over 60 years. With the obstacles of owning a business, this one has it down to a science. They are nice, efficient, and reputable. I always make a stop here when I'm in the area. You should too. If you are visiting the area, its next to the Ford dealership and a bit off the beaten path. The parking area is a gravel lot right beside the property.

South Side Hoagie Shop has been in Lewistown for, I believe, 75 years which an amazing feat for a small business. The hoagies are great but they have a slew of other amazing options as well (Personally, I highly recommend the Sausage sandwich and the Cheese steak). The prices are very reasonable (something that's a dime a dozen these days), the staff is friendly and the premises are clean. If you catch them when they're busy you may have to wait 15-20 minutes for your food, otherwise they're very quick.
